Oranges and Coconut Flour. Two titans of taste that, up until now, you'd never expect in the same recipe. The question is, why not? They both are super delicious and healthy. They both give an added level of flavor and texture you can't find anywhere else. Isn't it time we join these two tastes into one?
As many of you know, Orange season is in full swing here in Southern California. Because of this, we thought it only right to bake up a delicious Paleo treat that was infused with, well, oranges. That's where our Coconut Flour comes in!
Using our super versatile Organic Coconut Flour, some honey, coconut oil, and, of course, oranges, we've created a light, delicious treat your paleo heart can't pass up. Prepare your palate, we're baking Paleo Orange Bars!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Raw Honey
1/2 cup Coconut Oil, melted
Pinch of Himalayan Salt
1 cup Honeyville Organic Coconut Flour
Orange Topping:
3 Eggs
1/2 cup Raw Honey
Zest from 1 Orange
2 tsp Honeyville Organic Coconut Flour
1/2 cup Orange Juice
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine honey, coconut oil, salt, and coconut flour, and mix with an electric hand mixer until a thick dough forms.
In your greased USA Pan Square Pan, place dough and, using your hands, evenly form and spread across pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Remove and let cool completely.
Knock oven temperature down to 325 degrees.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, honey, orange zest, coconut flour and orange juice until ingredients are fully combined.
Pour evenly over crust.
Bake at 325 degrees for 23-25 minutes, or until center is baked, but slightly jiggly. Remove and let cool in refrigerator for 1 hour before slicing and serving.
Rich, flavorful, and completely gluten-free and paleo friendly, who knew that oranges and coconut flour could taste so good together! The orange topping is the perfect consistency and taste, while the amazing crust keeps everything together. Bake these up for any gathering and watch them fly off the plate.
