What makes it so amazing you ask? The roll looks like a beautiful rose! That's right, a rose! Grab your favorite apron, it's time to bake up some Cherry Filled Rose Rolls!
Ingredients:
3 cups Hot Water
1/4 cup Butter, melted
2/3 cup Sugar
1 Tbsp Himalayan Salt
6-8 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Bread Flour
3 Tbsp SAF Yeast
15 oz can of Cherry Pie Filling
Yields: 24 rolls
Directions:
First, make your dough.
In your WonderMix Mixer, add the following ingredients in this order: water, butter, sugar, salt, 4 cups flour, and yeast. Turn mixer on and, while dough is mixing, add remaining flour 1 cup at a time until dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Once dough is pulling away from the sides of the bowl, continue mixing/kneading in the mixture for 5-6 minutes. Remove dough from mixer, shape into a ball, then place in a greased bowl and cover for 30 minutes.
Once dough has risen to double in size, punch down and remove from bowl.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Divide dough in half.
Take one half of dough and roll out on a hard surface.
Using the ring of a mason jar, cut out pieces of dough.
Take a piece of dough and cut 4 slices, about half way down, on each side. Drop a spoon full of cherry filling in the middle.
Taking one side at a time and wrap slices around your cherry filling.
Place finished roll on your USA Pan Baking Sheet, lined with parchment paper. Repeat for each roll and for second divided piece of dough.
Place rolls in 400 degree oven, knock temperature down to 350 degrees, and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Remove and let cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. While on cooling rack, dust with powdered sugar, then serve.
Light, fluffy, buttery, and with the most amazing cherry taste, these rolls are the perfect dessert for any Holiday celebration. The cherry filling goes perfect with the rich taste of the homemade rolls. And how cool do these look? I mean, rolls that look like roses? That's pretty awesome!
It isn't the Holiday's without fresh-baked rolls, especially when those rolls look like roses!
