Ingredients:
1 cup Butter, softened
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
3 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Flour
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Himalayan Salt
Red & Green Food Coloring
Directions:
First, prepare your dough.
In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter.
Add egg and vanilla and mix until light and fluffy.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until a thick dough forms.
Separate dough into two pieces.
Take one piece and add green food coloring, then add red food coloring to the other piece. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
Remove each ball, place individually between two pieces of parchment paper, and roll each out.
After rolled out, wet the top of one rolled out dough and lay the other on top of it. Use a pizza cutter and cut dough so that they are in an even square or rectangle.
Gently roll the dough up, using the parchment paper to keep it even and tight. If the dough begins to crack or bread, simple pinch the cracks together. Once rolled, wrap in plastic wrap and place back in the refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Once chilled, remove dough and begin slicing cookies.
Place sliced cookies on your USA Pan Baking Sheet, lined with parchment paper. Bake at 325 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Remove and let cool on pan for 10 minutes before serving.
Crisp, buttery, and packed full of Holiday cheer, these cookies not only look the part, they taste it! With a beautiful Holiday swirl pattern, and a delicious taste and texture that can't be found anywhere else, these cookies are perfect with a glass of eggnog or a mug of hot cocoa. Serve these up at your next Holiday party and watch them fly off the plate!
We all love the Holiday season, and with a cookie recipe like this one, we're sure to love it even more!
